Documentation

Description:
The purpose of this dataset is to understand the prevalence of the coronavirus in schools in England, using longitudinal data and including antibody testing to monitor seroconversion over the the academic year. Demographic information is also included allowing for analysis by different variables to identify patterns and trends. COVID-19 School Infection Survey (SIS) participants have been linked to the Test and Trace data to obtain information on COVID-19 test results taken outside of the testing rounds as part of SIS. The dataset consists of Test and Trace data and a linked list of IDs from SIS. This can be used to link to the main SIS attributes dataset, which includes test results from PCR tests and antibody test results, as well as key demographic information for participants and their households. The COVID-19 Schools Infection Survey aims to investigate the prevalence of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection and presence of antibodies to COVID-19 among pupils and staff in samples primary and secondary schools in England. Repeated surveys were carried out to collect risk factor information together with virus and antibody samples in a cohort of pupils and staff. NHS Test and Trace Description. The NHS Test and Trace is a system operated by NHS in England established to help track the spread of COVID-19 in the UK. It was launched on the 29th May 2020. NHS Test and Trace starts with an individual taking an antigen test, either in pillar 1 (clinical testing), pillar 2 (national testing) or pillar 4 (testing as part of a study). Anyone who tests positive will have their case transferred to NHS Test and Trace for contact tracing. Those tested under Pillar 3 (testing for anti-bodies for COVID-19) are not transferred to NHS Test and Trace.
