Description:
What the data describes:
The data includes the responses given in the annual longitudinal Working Lives of Teachers and Leaders study (WLTL) survey, with linked characteristics from the School Workforce Census (SWC), Database of Trainee Teachers and Providers (DTTP) and Get Information About Schools (GIAS). In addition to questions about their demographics, place of work, career history and ambitions, teachers and leaders in England are asked for their opinions about a range of subjects including:
• Workload
• Teacher training and CPD
• Pay
• Flexible working
• Wellbeing
• Pupil behaviour
Sampling:
The sample is taken from the School Workforce Census and Database of Trainee Teachers and Providers or ‘manage training for early career teachers’, the DfE’s ECT data portal and is a representative sample of the overall population of teachers, middle leaders and senior leaders in England.

The survey is run online and by phone
