Get started - Starting an application

• Select the Search icon where you will find the data catalogue for the data you require.

• Within the dataset you require, Add to Data Basket, request parameters and save. Continue to use Search to add more data.

• When you have added all the data you require to your Data Basket use Start application to create the application form.

• Answer the relevant questions in each of the five sections of the application form. Save your responses until you have completed all sections and you are ready to submit the application.

• Save and Submit each section, then select Submit for review to send your application to the SRS.

Get Started - Progressing applications

• Applications allows you to view all outstanding applications, see the current status and check for queries from our support team.

• Once an application is submitted, it will pass through several stages on its way to accreditation. These are;

  1. First Check – is the form completed correctly and does it make sense?

  2. Feasibility and Ethics checks – preparation for presentation to Research Accreditation Panel (RAP).

  3. Dataset Approvals – if required, see Conditions of Access in the data basket on the application.

  4. Pending UKSA Approval

  5. Verify project team

  6. Project Creation

  7. Run data and setup.

• We will notify you of any queries by email, also the project status will show Queried, please check the application and respond by amending the form.

• The time taken to approve the project depends largely on the response times of the stakeholders involved, a straightforward application with prompt responses from all involved can take as little as four weeks to set up. Applications generally take 10-15 weeks from submission to live.

Get Started – Managing existing projects

• Use the Projects menu to view projects that you are named on.

• From here you can search by project title, select projects and view the original application, request changes and view the current status of the project.

• The options for changing a project are;

  • Data, scope, extend – select this for a change of scope, dataset change or to extend the project.

  • Team – select this to change your research team.

  • Software – select this to request a software change.

  • Close project – select this to close your project.
